Oak Harbor Intermediate School principal Raenette (“Rae”) Wood has been selected as the 2025 recipient of the Annalee Braley Membership Award by the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP). Rae is the fourth individual to receive this honor, which recognizes outstanding commitment to mentoring, advocacy, and service in school leadership.

“Rae embodies the AWSP mission of supporting all principals and assistant principals in the education of each and every student,” said the announcement from AWSP. “These qualities reflect the heart and spirit of the Annalee Braley Membership Award, making her a truly deserving honoree.”

Rae has served as principal of Oak Harbor Intermediate since 2019. Her leadership has been instrumental in reinforcing the school’s academic and character pillars of respect, responsibility, and readiness.

"We are incredibly proud of Rae Wood—not just for this well-deserved recognition, but for the way she leads every day: with heart, humility, and a steadfast commitment to our students, staff, and families," said Superintendent Dr. Michelle Kuss-Cybula. "Her unwavering dedication to mentoring others and building a culture of respect and readiness reflects the very spirit of this award and the values of our Oak Harbor community."
